GOALS

 

A) Why am I in school? I plan to transfer to UCLA and take part in their television and film program. I've already had a few jobs in the industry, which gives me a leg up on the competition. However, I really just want the degree to make myself more marketable within the world of television and film development.

 

B) Believe it or not, I'm actually in my mid thirties, and along with age comes interests. The point I'm getting at is that I'm actually interested in the subjects I'm taking. More than just a grade, I hope to gain a comprehensive insight on how the world I live in actually works. I already have life and work experience; I just want to be able to back up my opinions with facts.

 

C) This semester I started classes to guide me in writing a screenplay, which I plan to have finished by this coming fall.

 

 

 

OUTCOMES

 

A) This is my first year, so we will have to wait a few years to see if I make it out alive. It will be a few more years before I enter the job market again with a degree on my resume.

 

B) I am discovering a lot of confirmed suspicions I had about politics, the environment, how society deals with racism, philosophy. I feel like I can actually hold up my end of the conversation with the numerous smart people I meet on a daily basis.

 

C) So far I have a decent outline for my screenplay and I'm almost ready to move on to writing the details of the first act.
